Open Question: What do you think about it?

I have been posting several questions about digestive system and red in bowel movements, well I went to a pharmacy today to get a good vitamin, well the pharmacist came out and talked to me for a while, and I explained that I ve had two rounds of bloodwork done in 9 months and about the red in bm and also about pains I am having all over my abdomen and especially on right side and he said that, they were probably right, if I was too have colon cancer or something serious in that nature, that for as long as I have been having red in bm (almost 1 and half years now) that my blood work definetly wouldve came back NOT normal,. Well he showed me a probiotic and said it is great for digestive system and then he gave me B-100 vitamins, My question is, does anyone know anything about these two products, and are they as good as they say. 20 minutes ago - 4 days left to answer. Additional Details I do have internal hemorroids. more

Resolved Question: Am I wrong for getting life insurance on my mother?

My mother has had severe hemorrhoids since she was pregnant with me. She has gone to the doctor a few times in the past 26 yrs. She has gotten antibiotics and pain medication. She bleeds with every bowel movement and if she sits down too hard. I have a strong feeling that it is more than just hemorrhoids. I have been doing my own research (through websites and I have two doctors and several nurses in the family as well as my own studies). I have been trying to convince my mother to go to the doctor and have them exam and test for possible anal or rectal cancer. I want to her to get checked out. But she won't. If I get life insurance on her, will I be looked at as a bad daughter? more

Voting Question: I know it's a long shot, but...signs of anal cancer?

I'm only 22, and I'm probably just being over-cautious, but for a couple weeks now I've noticed this bump on the inner area of my anus and it hasn't gone away yet. It doesn't hurt and it doesn't interfere with my bowel movements or anything like that, and it's very unlikely that it's STD related, I don't have any symptoms or discomfort or anything, and I've definitely never had anal sex. It's cyst-like, could it possibly be anal cancer? Is it even possible to get that at my age? Should I get it checked out, or wait a bit for it to go away, or just not worry about it? confused and concerned! more

Voting Question: Can my cat possibly have cancer at 2 yrs old?

My cat is about 2 years old. He looks big and health, very active, regular bowel movements, and has a normal appetite. About 7 month ago my cat had diarrhea that never went away and had red blood in his stool. I took him to the vet several times and each appointment they kept running new tests on him not finding anything unusual. prior to this my cat had been taking antibiotics. Antibiotics kills most of the bacteria in the stomach causing diarrhea in humans after treatment. So i thought the same thing and advised the vet but he didnt agree and wanted me to spend more money on tests. So far i spent $450. So I refused and fed my cat food with bacteria like raw meat. fortunately my kitty started shitting solids = ) and i never had a problem since now he eats dry food. But yesterday I saw my cat shit and it was nice and solid and smelly but there was small drips of red blood. His asshole looks fine, not bruised or anything. Has anyone had a cat do that before? Was he just pushing too hard? PLz for all the cat lovers out there dont get mad at me and tell me to take her to the vet immediately and im a dumbass. Im tired of dealing with those hustlers! more

Voting Question: I'm only 21 years old! I have some symptoms of colon cancer. Is it possible for me to have colon cancer?

Here are my symptoms: -anal bleeding. The first day I started bleeding, there was a lot. The 2nd day, not so much. Now it's the third day and there is nothing. - vomiting. The first day I started bleeding from my anus, I was also vomiting, but I haven't since then - my bowel movements are always different now a days. For the past year I've been pretty constipated when I go to the bathroom. Now it's a mix between constipation and slight diarrhea. - I sometimes get sharp pains in my abdomen. They only last for a second or two though and they're not very often. - heart burn, this has been happening for about 8 months (I'm not sure if this is a symptom of colon cancer, though) - the sensation that I have to make a bowel movement, but I don't really have to. I'm a 21 year old female and I'm kind of nervous! Does anybody think that I could definitely have colon cancer? I have a doctor's appointment scheduled about 2 weeks from now, but the wait is driving me crazy!update since I posted this question last: There is no more signs of blood in my stool (none from wiping or that is turning the water in the toiltet red), but now my stool is green with green mucus. Another symptom of colon cancer? Or something totally irrelevant ? I'm not sure, does anybody else know? I have a Doctors appointment on the 6th, but I just want to get other people's opinion while I'm waiting. more

Voting Question: Unknown Weight Loss. Any advice?

Hey. First off, I should explain some of my problems I've had for the past couple of months. Somewhere around November I came up ill with the flu. Around that time I lost about 10 pounds. I went from around 190 to 180. I was really sick for about 2 weeks almost. Anyways, once I got over that I started gaining weight back, but I later started having anxiety issues in January. I was admitted to the emergency room one night after having a panic attack that scared the snot out of me. However, nothing was wrong. They ran blood work, x-rays and common tests and told me that I was functioning perfectly. Months after that, however, I noticed that I was still losing weight. It frightened me at first, but I realized that all this was happening while I was preparing for my finals in college. Needless to say, I dropped from around 187 to around 178. After college let out, my nerves returned to normal, only getting a little on the edge once in a while. However, recently I have had stomach issues after eating. I went to the doctor the other day to see what it might be and he seems to think it's Irritable Bowel Syndrome. He's put me on Prilosec and told me to change my diet. However, while I was there, they weighed me and told me I was down 10 pounds from the last time I had come, which was around 2 and 1/2 months ago. This worried me, because I thought I was gaining the weight back. I do absolutely nothing to burn the fat, so it does concern me. However, I have had blood work done and been examined by the doctor several time and he insists its nothing to worry about. I, however, being constantly scared of the worst, have been contemplating it being cancer or other terrible things. I do not have any other symptoms and I feel really good most of the time. I have, however, cut off of caffeine completely; only drinking water now. My eating habits are not good, though. Lately, I've been going to bed late and waking up at around 12 P.M. I rarely have breakfast and when I do I count it as lunch. So can anyone help me? Am I just freaking out? more

Resolved Question: I would like to know what are the symptoms of bowel cancer?

I have pain in my lower left side and bowl movements which are covered in mucus with an oil looking discharge. I can have 4/5 movements a day and am in a lot of pain. Voting Question: Do I have colon cancer (or any type of cancer) or am I being stupid?

Do I have colon cancer (or any type of cancer) or am I being stupid? Okay so it started on Monday (I am posting this on Saturday) where I was having more bowel movements then usual. Between meals where it seems like I did not eat enough (usually) I was having a series of small bowel movements. Well some were small. Basically I felt as if I were having more bowel movements than normal. It felt almost as if I wanted diarrhea but could not do it. They came in a wide variety, long, hard, small, mushy, thin, short, etc. Anyway that kind of stopped on Wednesday and Thursday, but returned on Friday. Friday after passing a large bowel movement I had some bright red blood on the toilet paper and stringy blood in the toilet. Now blood has happened before and I was diagnosed with hemorrhoids. This blood was similar, and it was still there when I went to bathroom again. I used some of cream prescribed to me over a year ago and it did calm down the hemorrhoid, even though I still have that unclean feeling. Well now and I'm not sure if I am just freaking out or not, it feels like I have an upset stomach or am going to vomit. Like I have anxiety. I went to the doctor on Wednsday and he said not to worry unless the bowel movements did not normalize in a few weeks. I am really worrying, can anyone say something that will either ease my mind or make me have a drs appointment asap? I should say I am a 24yo male who exercises a lot and eats relatively well. Not much stomach pain, normal cramps before going to the bathroom that have happened throughout my life. more

Resolved Question: can breast cancer metastasize to the bowel?

I had breast cancer last year, finished chemo in Oct. For the past 3 weeks there has been blood in my stools. Sometimes there is a lot, sometimes none. Besides the blood I don't have symptoms of hemorrhoids. The only pain I have is a back ache which I've had since January. A recent had a bone scan has excluded bone mets. I'm certain I don't have bowel cancer, I'm too young for starters. I am going to see my GP but not for another 2 weeks. I just wanted to know if metastisis to the bowel is possible? I really don't want anything else to be wrong with me.I have been taking Tamoxifen since October 08 more

Resolved Question: Living a long life - will I die young too?

I have recently been going to the local cemetery to find my relatives graves as part of my family history research. After looking at the graves, there is a myriad of ages from 1 day old to 102 years old. My grandfather and my mother both died when they were 45, grandad died of cancer and mum died had an "ischaemic bowel" where her bowel's blood supply was cut off by her inflamed pancreas which caused multiple organ failure and we switched her life support off. Is this just coincidence or will I die young too? more

Voting Question: My Dog Has Stomach Cancer-Has your dog had this and survived?

I've just spoken to my vet, after l dropped my ten year old staffie off for tests, and he says that there are two options (l may have one of these wrong, l was a bit overwhelmed), either stomach cancer, or inflammatory bowel disese. By the way he was talking, l think he thinks it's going to be cancer. I won't find out until tomorrow afternoon, they're taking tests in the morning. I love my dog so much, l can't stand the thought of losing her, and l can't stand the thought of her in pain, she's so thin and weak. I'm having to stop writing because l'm crying so much. I really need to hear some success stories, l know it's a rare thing, stomach cancer. The vet believes that if it is cancer, then there is a good chance of treating it, and that the treatment isn't as harsh as it is for humans. I hate this so much, l've been watching her wasting away without being able to help her. Has anyone out there got a dog who has had this, responded to treatment, and is not well again, l'd love to know.Im sorry, but ten years is not 'a good life' or a 'good run', staffies can live up to sixteen years, so she is by no means an old dog. My other dog, a lab/collie cross is 14 and still going strong. It's also great to know, that when you're feeling down, and ask for words of encouragement, there will always be someone out there to tell me to have my dog put down. Thanks (not said bitterly at all!). more

Voting Question: Can anyone please help me out and tell me what I have?

I have lower back pain but it doesn't feel like a muscle it feels more like inside pain. I also have mild levels of blood in my stool, have slightly high levels of iron in my stool (according to the ER doctor), My stool is thinner than what it once was. I also have bowel movements more frequent than I used to have. One doctor said it sounds like a muscle and prescribed 800mg Motrin but it didn't even dull the pain, it didn't touch it at all. The second doctor didn't want to jump to conclusions and wants me to go to a specialists and get a colonoscopy. I don't really want it but if it will help. Anyway, the second doctor said it might be early stages of Crohns disease and I am hoping not....because that could lead to colon cancer....the second doctor also said that after all the test he couldn't find anything aside from blood in stool and slightly high iron levels. So please any idea of what I may have would be much appreciated. Oh yeah this pain has been constant for a little over a month and gets worse when I need to have a bowel movement and if I don't go right away I get dizzy and feel sick, very light headed, but they all clear up when I go..any idea much appreciated.yeah they checked my kidneys and found nothingthe symptoms have been getting worse for over a month more

Voting Question: Recurring Abdominal Pain. Are there any Doctors here?

First off, I am 13 years old. All of my life I have had recurring abdominal pain, especially after I eat. This pain was extreme, but we always thought that it was just an upset stomach. We went to the doctor several times, and each time they had a different answer. First it was my kidneys, then it was my liver and pancreas. After doing several costly tests and sonograms, they found that I had Gallbladder Disease and gallstones. On January 31, 2009, I went in for surgery to have my gallbladder removed. For about two months we were so relieved to have the pain gone. I ate more and even gained 20 pounds. Now, I am starting to lose some of that weight again, and food isnt as appetizing as before. My after-eating stomach pain is reaccuring. I have researched different things like Celiac Disease, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), and even cancer. I'm not sure whether to go back to the doctor and have to go through every medicine known to man again. If someone WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT could give me some answers (preferrably a doctor) please do. Thanks again, Jessica more

Resolved Question: Do you know of anyone in contemporary times who has been raised from the dead?

A few years ago, my former pastor died from bowel cancer...he had received all kinds of prayers for healing, and believed he would be healed. Even after he had died...his family remained by his body in prayer for his resurrection...at his funeral, which was attended by a very large number, the casket was left open in the hopes God would raise him up in front of the crowd. I see this as a serious case of denial/loss of sanity....but do you know of anyone who has witnessed such an event? Former ChristianJeremy...I agree...could you imagine what would have happened if he just sat up in the coffin!? I for one would have run!Preacher of Light...I am not talking club foot here...I'm talking dead body. more

Voting Question: Pain in my colon, ... Bleeding, I'm so very scared! Help...?

Hi, I started to have some bleeding about 2 years ago or so when I went to the washroom and this happened in like 3 occasions or so every 3 or 4 months. I went to the doctor and he told me that it was probably hemorrhoids, then he told me that i should go to have that test (I don't remember the name) in which the insert a camera in your anus and see inside you. He noticed my discomfort about it and told me that if I didn't bleed anymore after that last time I could just cancel that test and so I did, because I didn't bleed anymore. However, just recently, like 3 months ago or so, I started having problems like pain when going to the washroom, the pain in my anus that the doctor said could be hemorrhoids and all that, and just like 2 days ago I started having this pain in the right side of my belly...like the side and part of the front..is that where the colon is? I did some research and the first thing that came up was colon cancer... and I am freaking out here! I am planning on going to the doctor the day after tomorrow and tell him about this, but for now i just want to know what this could possibly be? just to have an idea ... also what is exactly a bowel movement? Thank you guys.... more

Resolved Question: Nurses/doctors only.....no stupid answers, please.?

I'm 38. I have had this problem for the last month. After every meal my stomach makes strange noises. My perineal region tingles. Occasionally I'll get an involuntary erection. It's always about 30 minutes after meals when I start to get "anal seepage" (this is the only term my physician had for it). The seepage lasts for about an hour. Basically, I have a bowel movement and I have to wipe repeatedly. Usually, that causes my anus gets bloody, leading to infection and severe hemroids. At social events like dates with my wife and even a family reunion, I got extremely nervous about my condition "blowing up on me" which made me crap my pants (for a lack of better words)...I literally drenched my pants. I've been given medicine for heartburn and diarrhea and medicated creme for the hemroids, none of which have helped. I've been screened for colon cancer and have had routine colonoscopies for the last several years which have all come back negative. How do you recommend that I deal with this? more

Resolved Question: Why have I been bleeding after a bowel movement?

I am 18 years old. I've been bleeding after bowel movements for about 3 years now. I'm not, and never have been constipated, but it does hurt (almost like a tear) when I make a BM, and after for about 15 minutes. I have read about hemmoroids and fissures and have looked for any symptoms of those, but have yet to notice any (besides the bleeding). Could this be anything more serious? We have a family history of colon cancer, my dad just got out of the hospital with diverticulitis and I just had 2 stomach ulcers... should I be concerned? more

Resolved Question: Is this something i should be worried about? Dr. says its just IBS but im still worried.?

for the past 4 months ive had ongoing pain in my upper left below my ribs {2 inches from my belly button}.. i went to the GI doctor just to make sure this was nothing i should be worried about and he did tell me what i was describing was IBS symptoms.. this all started when i was in my teens and the pain and symptoms would come and go but now that iam 22 they are constant. sometimes the pain isnt nearly as bad but is still there.. other days the pain is unbarable and i need to croch over or lay down cause the pain is just that bad. i do have spouts of constipation, diarrhea, and thin stools but the doctor said those are normal signs of IBS. the worry i have is that my family does have a history of intestinal cancer and ive also read somewhere that cancer can cause pain that wont go away {exactly what im having}.. is there any chance this can be cancer? i dont have any blood in my stools, no mucus, nothing.. just wishy washy bowels and upper left side pain. any ideas? more

Resolved Question: i hav a question involving the survival rate of colon cancer?

i was reading an artical on colon cancer that someone sent me. i asked a question about colon cancer earlier. well first of all. i had colon cancer . it did not soread and they took part of my colon out. said everything was fine. have to get checked again this week. well. the doctor said he got it all out. well the thing im concerned about is the artical.... the part on the surviving rates. well if they got it all out. then why does the artical say.thatin patients with early colon cancer which is limited to the superficial layer of the bowel wall surgery is often the only treatmentneeded? those patients can experence long-term survival in excess to 80 percent? well if they got it all. why isnt your survival rate 100 percent? please. anyone with any knowledge of this will help, thank you so much. more

Resolved Question: Chemo & Radiation...Yes or No?

Mid March I recv'd a phone call that my Father who lives out of state. Had been hospitalized and was not expected to make it. My brother and I arrived at the hospital within 24 hrs and was met by his Dr who immediately told us he had pneumonia and because of his dementia and alcoholism was going to call in the state to take custody of him if we didn't want to. Please keep in mind we were unaware of any health issues with him. The next day we hired an attorney, day after that appeared before a judge and gained guardianship. After 1 week in the hospital and 4 weeks in a skilled nursing facility we prepared him for the move back to California with us. Over a 6 week time frame I made 3 trips to Oklahoma. I contacted UC Irvine Research Center for Aging and Demential before we moved him. Scheduled his appts for the week after the move. Obtained a new primary care Dr. The week following the move he saw his new Dr-she ordered a Brain CT, did a chest X-Ray and blood work. (Did I mention he has diabetes?) His tests came back as follows: CT-revealed moderate dementia and a previous stroke. Blood work showed 3rd stage kidney failure. Chest X-Ray showed a 2.7 x 2.0 mass causing concern for maliginacy. She referred him to a lung specialist who saw him 3 days later who ordered a Pet Scan. The next week the Pet Scan came back indicating multiple tumors in left lung. Colon, bladder, bowel, 3 ribs, 1 vertebre, invasion of the chest wall and his tonsils. The next week a biopsey was done and 8 days ago I was told that he has extended small cell lung cancer undifferentiated. His primary Dr said she personally would not put a loved one through chemo and radiation that was in his condition. She did however move forward with referrals to the oncologists. After my brother and I received the news and knew the appts had been made for July 6. We booked a 75' houseboat on Lake Powell for the entire family to spend a vacation together. We have camped and fished Lake Powell many years as a family and want to do this for my Dad and for us while he is still functional to do so. The problem is....telling him. Yes, we will have his primary care Dr do that but the decision for Chemo and Radiation is all together another issue. At best it will be pallitive for him. We don't know if the chemo oncologist will even determine if he will be able to tolerate chemo given all his health issues but won't discuss it with me until he see's my Father. There is a part of me that does not want to tell him that he has 2-4 months without any radiation or chemo. There's a part of me that feels like he would want to fight the fight. Then there's the part that just wants my Dad to enjoy as much of the time he has left doing what he loves and that is being with his family and fishing. Any insight or recommendation of treatment or lack of would be greatly appreciated. I am just at a loss... more

Alberta populations of woodland caribou have been in the past several years. One major influence has been the logging of mature forests which contain lichens necessary for caribou to survive the winter. The young regenerated forest provides good food supply for moose, deer and elk, which, in turn, will attract and support the growth of a wolf population which preys on the caribou. Oil and gas activity in these logged areas further increase human contact with the caribou and increase poaching and accidental deaths. The wolves use cutlines and skidoo trails to increase their hunting range. The table below shows the changes in the populations of animals in the time following the logging of a mature forest Changes in Three Populations of Animals Time Population one Population Two Population Three 1 100 20 300 2 150 22 390 3 200 24 280 4 250 25 270 5 350 30 250 6 400 35 210 7 450 65How do we add more points to our questions??? more

Resolved Question: Severe stomach pains, took CAT, bloodwork, found nothing, but could it be colon cancer?

I am 23 years old. I've been having some pretty severe stomach pains. I feel pressure on my colon itself on both left and right sides. Sometimes I have a hot/cold feeling in my stomach which radiates to my lower body which can last for several minutes or even half hour. I feel cramping and bloating daily. My bowel movements have reduced to once every 2 days or so. I went to the ER because I thought it might have been appendicitis, and I took a CAT Scan, blood work, vitals checked, and all came out without ANY flaws. The doctor recommended to have a colonoscopy and I have one planned for 3 weeks from now, it's the earliest date they had... but I have a fear that this might actually be colon cancer. Could it be cancer even though all the blood work, vitals, CT Scan came back perfect? Just filled with anxiety while the pain continues :( more

Resolved Question: Anyone with Irritable Bowel Sydrome. Help?

I went to a doctor recently because I experienced abdominal pains and problems having bowel movements. I was mostly afraid of it being colon cancer but he said that wasn't the case due to me not having any blood in my stools or them coming out flat and thin. He said I could very well have IBS but he can't OFFICIALLY diagnose me until the symptoms have occurred for 12 weeks. Since I seem to fit the bill, I'm relatively sure I have this. How do you cope with this condition? How do others with this syndrome live their lives with abdominal pains every day? I have depression as well which tends to make it worse. How would you cope with this? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. more

Resolved Question: 42 years old an possibility of having colon/rectal cancer....?

i have worked myself into a frenzy.I am a "overweight" yet healthy 42 year old white male who has worked out for 28 years.Last week i was tryin to drop a few pounds an took 2 laxatives to help me drop weight before a social event.I normally dont do this but maybe 2 times per year just to clean out.Anyway when the cramping an normal diahria started i was fine til about the 4th bowel movement (9pm)an i saw bright red blood. It bled next 4-5 movements an about 5am it started becoming solid again to the point at about 7am,my last bowel movement my stool was half normal an have bright red blood.Which was telling me diarhia subsided an i was goin back to normal,by 2-3 pm it was normal by the naked eye .Anyway i figured i better at least check with my family doc an at 8:30 am i was at the office an saw a nurse practitioner.....here is how the conversation went.... she asked if i had hemoroids an i said no unless they are internal. She said well u most likely have a polyp an its probably cancerous an u need to schedule a colonoscopy an before deciding who you wnat to do thsi procedure you wanna figure out who u would want to do a colon resection.i told her she was scaring me with this talk an she just said well do u wanna die,you gotta do it.She did give me a rectal exam an said she couldnt feel anything like a hemmoroid or anything ......but i left the doctors office feeling like i had to have cancer an i may die.I went to the surgeon who will do the colonoscopy friday an he said it could be alotta things an at my age an family history that cancer was unlikely. Now maybe he was just tryin to calm my fears but between this 1st nurse practionener i saw an what ive read on the internet im thinking maybe i do have rectal /colon cancer. i just bled that 1 time basiclaly although another day i used the restroom alot an saw traces of blood in my stool.but its clear by the naked eye now.But i look at the symptoms an think, blood ,thats me, smaller stool, thats me, (although i havent eaten much),feel like i need to go but cant all the way or at leats feel like i didnt empty......so from anyone with knowledge what would u think? does it sound like colon/rectal cancer?no family history of any colon cancer an no history of cancer period on my moms side.Mydads side is clean but he came fromoverseas so i can only go back 1 generation to my great grandparents.yes i told both docs about laxatives.the general surgeon or whatever he is that will do the colonoscopy said the laxative coulda cramped me so bad it just made my colon bleed. more

Voting Question: if i have changes in passing gas, should i worry?

for example, sometimes i can feel the gas in my stomach and get the feeling that when it passes it will make a loud sound, but sometimes only just a real little gas comes out. This has been going on for about a month. It is not everytime I pass gas, but maybe half of the time. I also have been experiencing occasional quick sharp sensations in my rectum, and occasional constipation (although I have never gone a full day without a bowel movement). I am extremely nervous. any advice would greatly appreciated. thanks. I am a 33 yr old female. No health problems (that I know of) I have been a vegetarian for 17 years but I still always worry that I have colon or rectal cancer more

Resolved Question: Question about my health?

I'm extremely worried there's something terribly wrong with me. I'm a 17 year old male. I don't smoke or drink. My parents are from Ireland and they're extremely healthy both near 50 years old and all my grandparents are alive except one who died 4 years ago at the age of 84. The only physical illness that runs in my family is diabetes-- my granfather in Ireland has this. There's no history of cancer, heart problems or anything in my family. Let me say a few things about myself as well. I go to bed very late. Sometimes I don't go to bed at all-- insomnia from anxiety and depression. I'm 6'5" and usually all I eat in the morning is a bowl of cheerios... if even. I don't eat lunch, instead I come home from school at 2:30 PM and either eat fast food or make a sandwich at my house. I eat dinner around 5 PM and then snack consistently until around 10 PM. I never exercise... Occasionally I go on a walk or walk home from school but I DON'T play any sports or anything. I have bad posture and I often sit in front of the computer for like 2 hours hunching forward straining my neck. I never drink water. All of these poor habits have enver bothered me before so I don't see why they would bother me suddenly. All my "symptoms" have happened only after two bad anxiety attacks in which I went to the hospital at 2 AM in fear of having a heart attack. Yet after I had two anxiety attacks I've been having symptoms that are REALLY bothering me. I'll show you what I did today and how I feel today. I stayed up till about 1 AM last night (I stayed up all night the night before) and woke up at 1 PM today... Got up, took a shower, put my clothes on, ate one bowl of oatmeal, and went out with my friend. I usually have this weird discomfort in the back of my head/top of my neck but it was gone today and I think this is probably because I used a more supportive pillow. I woke up with a headache as usual though. It went away like an hour after I woke up. Anyway I was feeling pretty good till I got to the town centre with my friend after walking half a mile. I started feeling vertigo but it quickly subsided. Then I felt good walking around town till I started walking home by myself. By the time I sat down at home I was exhausted and when I moved my arms they felt very heavy and felt like they were moving slow or something. Then I tok a bowel movement and it was very odd.... It was palish, and looked like a bunch of rocks lumped together-- could this be from the oatmeal? I just normally get headaches, a vertigo-like feeling, neck stiffness, muscles aore all over my body, fatigue, constantly hungry, dry skin, occasional dry mouth, I feel like I'm going to pass out after standing up after getting comfortable in a chair, and urine seems like it smells. I feel more dizzy and the headache gets worse when I move my eyes. Sometimes when I get very little sleep my heart starts fluttering and there's pain there-- but I know this is from anxiety because the doctor told me and my EKG is completely normal and whenever I calm down or get more sleep it goes away. Yet the other symptoms are constantly there. I live in a pretty high altitude ear Los Angeles. Wheneve rI go up into the mountains my ears pop on the way up... But living in a high altitude has never bothered me before so I don't think that could be causing this right now. The symptoms seem to get worse when I hear loud noises like practicing with my band. I had a blood test and urinalysis and a check-up with the doctor like a month ago and everything was normal and the doc said there is nothing seriosuly wrong with me. She says it's all anxiety/stress/depression. I honeslty don't understand how emotional problems could cause so many physical problems though. My symptoms get worse when I think about having a serious illness.... Could I just be dehydrated? Could it be diabetes (my grandather has this.) Could I be anemic? What the hell is causing all this. It doesn't disrupt my life biut it's just annoying and it scares me that I have some serious illness.Oh my god, as I said before I've always had these habits for like the pst two years. They've never bothered me so why would they suddenly start causing all these symptoms in the last month or two?Even when I do exercise and get sleep and eat I still feel these symptoms.ScorpioR... - I never had a bowel movement like that before. It just happened for the first time and I'm pretty sure it's because I ate a huge bowl of oatmeal and nothing else.I'm 6'5" and 170 pounds. more

Resolved Question: Can anybody help me with this?

About 1 week ago, I noticed that during bowel movements there was a slight pain but it would subside within a few minutes after. There was no blood in the stool, so I thought it was just an anal fissure. Then about yesterday I began to have this sever itching sensation that was off and on for the whole day around the anus area. I got paranoid that it could be something serious like a hemorrhoid or possibly anal cancer? Should I go get checked out or am I just be a hypochondriac? Also I'm fifteen, if that helps with anything. more

Resolved Question: Is it ok to euthanize a dog yourself?

We have a 15 year old shih tzu that is blind, deaf, and whose bowels are being taken over by cancer. I was wondering if it would be ethically ok to euthanize it ourselves rather than paying our jackass of a vet a lot of money to kill it... we live in the countrytrust me this is not an easy thing to do whatever way it is done... she is suffering enough alreadyI don't understand what makes a vet more humane than anyone else... they are just killing the dog which is what we will be doing too... just because he is a vet he gets to be more humane??? more

Resolved Question: Colonoscopy - Please help!?

I am scheduled to have a colonoscopy tomorrow. I am on the liquid diet right now (no solid food). I am very nervous. Not so much about the procedure, but the what if's. I am 30 and the doc tries to reassure me that he rarely finds polyps or cancer in people my age. The doc believes I have IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and they have done an upper GI test which was fine, now they want to do a lower GI test. I sometimes feel like canceling this procedure. I had it scheduled 3 years ago, but canceled. Some of my "IBS type symptoms" have returned and now the test is back on. Anyone out there ever have one? Are they fairly safe? Will my "bottom" hurt after the procedure? Will the effects of the colon cleanser wear off fairly quickly? What can I expect? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks more
