Open Question: Tips on owning a lovebird?
So I'm getting my first lovebird, and first bird in general. I've done a lot of research, but I'd like to hear advice from bird owners to compare it to what I've read. Basically I plan on getting one lovebird in a 2x2x2 foot cage with small spacing between horizontal bars, lots of different types of perches, bells, mirrors and toys. Feeding it a premixed pellet diet with fresh veggies, fruits, and boiled eggs. I plan on training it things like "up" and housetraining and anything else i can get it to do with a clicker. So I'd appreciate feed back on what I wrote and any other tips for ex: What have you learned in owning a lovebird? What food (brand, and treats, and home-made stuff) have you found they like best? I am just a kid, only 12. I weigh about 95 pounds and I'm getting close to 5'3". I'm female. I have a fast metabolism, I guess, because I could eat about 30,000 calories a day and still be around the same size. I eat so unhealthy. Some days I eat five brownies and ice cream. Today I ate two brownies. (Trying to cut back, lol.) This is all going to catch up with me SOON, I can feel it coming. I'm starting to feel sick from eating so much, but I just can't help it. Whenever I see food, i eat it and can't help! I'm a vegetarian which probably helps keep me underweight. I really need to start eating healthier. I don't want any comments that tell me I don't need to worry about this I'm too young. I AM NOT TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT! I AM NOT TRYING TO DIET! I just want to eat healthier. I'm 5'10 and only weigh about 145lbs on average every time i try to gain weight with supplements and exercise (weights) i get close to 149 then top off there. I need help in making a suitable workout routine for myself. I fractured my ankle about a month and half back. Over the school year, I didn't remain fit because I was mostly studying. I was planning to jog over the summer and start working out. But then this fracture has prevented me from putting too much strain on it. I don't have a cast or anything, I just cannot run or jump on it. I can walk. I wanted to know some workout exercises that I could do that don't put strain on my ankle but at the same time, I can lose weight. i have recently been diagnosed with an eating disorder, i went to a dietitian and she gave me a diet plan, is what she has given me loads for one person to eat in a day or is it my imagination? its really getting to me so i would really like some answers.. breakfast- 45g cereal (bran flakes) 2 slices of toast 300ml orange juice lunch- sandwich (ham salad) 100g yogurt (55 calories) alpen bar (59 calories) popcorn (29 calories) apple 400 ml orange juice dinner quorn cottage pie and carrots. 350ml pineapple juice 200 calorie yogurt. is this loads?? it equals a total of about 1800 calories. also im female 16 5ft 7 and i weigh 7 stone 3 pounds (102 lbs) moreOpen Question: Help Vegetarian Diet Information?
I'm a bit frustrated. I ordered "vegetarian cooking for dummies" thinking there would be nutritional dietary information to help me formulate a diet plan, sadly the book doesn't seem to have what I'm looking for. I need a website. I really wanted to start my diet this month. I'm losing hope and I don't want to have to go through the trouble of buying another book. Can someone please help me ? Please!!! I don't intend to use much or any butter or oils at all in my cooking that's just how I am. I know how to cook so avoid the obvious information. Ok I'm a 16 year old teen weighing 220 standing at 5'6 (I know over weight) my goal is to lose at least 50 pounds (I know that leaves me at 170 but its a start right?, I don't wanna set my goal to high, plus I know its impossible to lose 50 pounds over the summer so I will take my time). I only have my to sisters supporting me but I'm very motivated to lose weight and eat healthy. I'm a active person I'm a flag girl(color guard) in the band, we march (moving legs alot) swing and twirl(moving arms alot) and dance(moving all body parts). We practice everyday(except weekends) for about 3-4 hours. In 3 weeks I go to band camp which we be alot more harder than practice which we be alot more exercising. Ok I eat 1400-1700 calories/day. Obviously with fruits, veggies, lean meats, etc. Eat at : Breakfast - 8 am Snack - 10:30 am Lunch - 1 pm Snack - 2:30 pm Dinner - 5 or 6 pm Exercise plan (daily) : Cardio for 15-20 mins after breakfast. Cardio for 35 mins in afternoon. Cardio for 15 at night. Sometimes some strenght exercises. Hello, I really need a hand getting my body to the 'sexy' stage. Here is my statistics. Age.. 15 Years, 5 Months Height.. 5 Foot, 6 Inch Weight.. 75kg or 165lbs Target Weight.. 70kg or 154lbs I do about 20 minutes a day of running/jogging.. I don't eat really bad, usually whatever my parents cook for dinner I got to have, so I can't adjust those but for breakfast and lunch I can work on. I need to know what exercises I should be doing and what I should be eating. I don't want a strict diet though, just a guide. I should also note my main weight problems are the chest and the stubborn belly area. I'm aiming for overall weight loss of course, but I just wanted that to be incorporated as a focus area. I'm trying to lose 3 lbs a week by doing this: Diet: Whole Grain Bagel with whipped butter and a skim latte Yogurt and fruit Vegetable with beans soup, fish or meat, rice or potatoes and salad Yogurt and fruit Vegetable with beans soup and fruit (sometimes a eat a slice of bread too for dinner if I'm hungry) Exercise (60 minutes) S - Yoga M - Triple Fit (combination of cardio, legs and arms) T - Spinning (45 min.) or Elliptical (90 min.) W - Triple Fit R - Spinning (45 min.) or Elliptical (90 min.) F - Spinning (45 min.) or Elliptical (90 min.) Sat. - Triple Fit What do you guys think? So my previous question (just a couple minutes ago, but it's already disappeared), was how many pounds I'd lose. I'm going to go with a very rough estimate of 16 pounds to 30 pounds in 60 days. I'm 146 right now, 4'11", and 17 years old (I'm big boned). Will this diet plan work? 110 cal for breakfast 190 cal for lunch < 500 cal for dinner and maybe a snack. So around... 850-900 calories a day. If I exercise six days a week, I could burn 1400 calories from just the exercise (not including other daily activities). So, as long as I keep myself active the rest of the day, maybe around 2000 calories a day? (active, meaning, take a quick 10 minute walk during computer sessions, walk around the house a little bit). Is this a healthy approach? I'd be sure to get 8 hours of sleep at least and give my body rest for one day a week. I want to lose as much weight as possible (it's a health issue, I'm overweight) as quickly as possible, but I'm willing to take time if I need to.Then what's the easiest way to lose weight? Because if I eat 2000 calories a day, I won't even lose a pound every week. I work full time and finish often quite late in the evening. Im finding it quite difficult to think of quick easy meals that are quite healthy to make, for this reason im feeling unmotivated about carrying on the diet. Hey, I'm asian and I eat rice as a major source of food. My mom made curry with carrots, onions, mushrooms, apples, meat, chicken, etc...all the healthy stuff. The thing is I'm on a diet and I heard rice (or carbs) aren't good for you. I go to gym everday and work out 1-2 hours. Will I get fat or still lose weight? I've been eating fruits and vegetables the first 3 days of my diet but I had to eat some rice, for I was not used to that style. So can I eat rice and stuff and still lose weight?
