Open Question: I had back surgery yesterday it was a disc fusion L5-S1.?
My question is about swelling, my feet and my hands are both swelled up and have been since I got home. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or knows anything about it. I am going to contact my surgeon, if the swelling doesn't go down. I just have to wait for Monday. I am also taking strong pain medicine, but I was also was on it before surgery so I don't think it could be the medicine. moreOpen Question: which one would you rather?

As Nelly walked through Dolan woods she could feel her bones slowly and painfully change into those of a wolf. She quickened her pace, not wanting anyone to see what was about to happen. Pain shot through her like hot, searing needles as she completely stopped in an isolated meadow with tall trees making a border. She fell to the ground, unable to withstand pain that was shooting though her body. Her hands and feet curling over and spouting sharp claws, a tail sprouted from her back side. Her Face elongated itself into a snout as her ears grew long and pointed. Her teeth fell out, sharp dagger like canine taking their places. Black fur took the place of her once pale skin, making her look like an oil slick. A mournful howl bursted from her parted jaws, marking her transformation complete. She swung her head around texting her new senses. She could hear everything, the stream bubbling 30 feet to her west, the soft scuttle of a mouse under one of the trees that made the border to the meadow. And she could smell everything, the fishy smell from the stream, the earthy, fresh smell of the meadow she was in. A cool breeze blew by her, bringing her the scent of deer. Her wolf instincts took control as she raced out of the meadow and a hill that had a bordering forest, toward the scent of prey. Everything past her in a moonlit blur as she raced though the dark forest, sensing the deer was not far away. Ok so im 36 wks pregnant. Prior to gettin pregnant I weighed 93 lbs and i am 5'3 im a little bitty thing. i look like im anorexic or some shit and im luggin round this belly. My kid is pushin her feet up in my ribs on my right side...and has been doing this for the past 3 months straight. Every time she pushes it hurts SO FUCKING BAD! Im like almost in tears. I grip the nearest thing as hard as I can...its horrible. I dont know how much more i can take. The slightest movements I make just make it so much more worse. my body is tence and i cant relax. and on top of her pushing when she does it makes the back pains even more intense....... I seriously cant take this. i have not got a wink of sleep in 3 days and my body feels so run down. but i cant lay down cause that hurts too. i cant do shit....idk.....do yall have any solutions....what did/do you do to ease pains in your side during ur pregnancy....... moreOpen Question: would you pass out from the pain or los of blood first?

I twisted my foot running in the woods. When i twistedd it i got really dizzy and it hurt so bad. It has been 5 days now and it's still a little swollen and hurting. If i step on it wrong i get sharp stabbing pains up threw my ankle. I have no health insurance so getting x-rays is out of the question. I can sort of walk but if i step wrong it kills. do you think it's broken? What should i do if it's broken? I jumped off about a 12 foot fence and landed really awkwardly on my right foot. I heard a distinct pop when it happened I think I made it worse because I had to run away because cops were shooting at me. My ankle has swelled to the size of a baseball and I can't put any weight on it all or move it without shooting pains up my leg and overall agony. it started two days ago. a sharp shooting pain that started at my upper left rib and went to my shoulder up my neck and down my arm to my wrist and fingers. the sharp shooting pain lasted about 6 hours, but the pain in my ribs is absolutely excruciating! and it has not gone away. it hurts to laugh...cry....breathe...move!!!! i dont no if i should go to the emergency room or not. i called my obgyn who said he only deals with the belly button down... but there has to b something someone can do! i no it has got to be the baby with her foot in my ribs or something...it almost feels like what i imagaine a broken rib would feel like! has this happened to anyone??? how did u fix it??? im desperate! moreOpen Question: okay just some questions ....?
ok well im 32 weeks pregnant the hospital that i get my antenatal check ups sucks the midwives dont listen to your concerns and its always a rush to get you in and out im not the only one who has complained about this hospital numerous of women have... but i cant go anywhere else as i have tried but they went on about i have to go to a hospital in my area blah blah i asked if there was any female doctors that would know anything about pregnancy and i got told well thats why people go and get health insurance or they pay hundreds of dollars to get there own private doctors and why should i bother as im 32 weeks pregnant anyway ....... anyway would you consider this JUST PREGNANCY or a concern ... i had a daughter 9months ago whilst pregnant with her i had gestational diabetes (i was on insulin) anyway i fell pregnant again pretty much straight away as my daughter is 9months and im 32 weeks preg now i have had my diabetes check like two times i dont havee it this time which im happy about . but i have placenta previa they say it has moved which is good ... but i have these problems and just wondering if any women here have had the same problems i have ...blurry vision, my feet and hand are red raw and swollen (i know pregnancy does that but i have never had them this swollen or red before and i have 2 children) i get sharp pains sometimes in stomach on my sides and i have yellow discharge down below i sometimes just dont feel right and sometimes i feel like i want to faint .. see these are the things i try to talk about with my midwives but they say that its just pregnancy they dont even let me finish what i have to say like i will go oh i have blurry vision i got told oh that has nothing to do with pregnancy. and i feel shut off so i dont bother telling her about my other concerns .. moreOpen Question: how often should i ice my knee to make it feel better?
i sprained my knee 7 years ago playing soccer. it started hurting for the first time like 2 months ago. it hurts all the time. i also have flat feet and bursitis in my hip on the same leg. so basically my leg is really messed up. anyways, my knee is giving me the most trouble. i ice it twice a day, once in the morning and once at night for like an hour. i've been doing this for 2 weeks. its not doing anything for the pain. i don't have any health insurance and can't afford to go to the doctor. i just started working at safeway so in 6 months i will get health insurance, but until then, what can i do to ease the pain? and why is it hurting now after 7 years?i can't ice it every time it hurts because it hurts all the time all day..it sucks moreOpen Question: my knees hav been hurtin 4 about 5 weeks now and i can barely run i hav flat feet im 14 & realy fit wats wrong?

I think I may have broke an area of my foot when I was running a few months ago. At first I thought it was nothing. It is the area above my toe next to big toe. I guess the toe nuckel. over time the pain got bad and I sit a lot to let it heal. It doesn't get brused or change colorsbut when i rub it it does hurt. Should I just tape the toe? I'm a 14 year old male and I have second-degree burns with watery blisters. The burn covers my entire face and shoulders, chest, neck, calves, feet. My arms are in a lot of pain and it feels like my arm is stiffening up. Moving my fingers is a little bit harder because it feels stiff and when I mash down with my arm, it hurts really bad. It's extremely achy and stiff. Is this a bad sign?It also feels harder to bend my fingers. I've been swimming for years, and have had no problems when training with flippers (doing drills etc) however over the past few months, I have found that every time I kick my legs hard on frontcrawl, especially if I am wearing flippers or fins, I get a sharp pain that goes up my leg and causes a stabbing sharp sensation behind one of my knees. It hurts so badly I have to stop and hold my leg (I can't move it at all because the pain is so bad or climb out of the pool). It's excruciatingly painful for about 10 seconds, and then the pain subsides gradually. But it's such a pain. I'm hesitant on seeing my doctor because last time I went she had a go at me for going twice in 2 months :/ Does anyone know what I could have? Hi I'm 20...I've fallen recently and I have a neck strain from it...now my back hurts 2 days later...it is kind of a dull and achy pain, but I can move everything and nothing feels weak. May this pain just be from laying in one place for quite some time for my neck strain? WOuld I have known right away if I had broken my back? I did not have back pain at the time. Would they have caught that at the ER? They made sure I could push my foot against their hand and move my toes. They also made sure I could move my hands against theirs. Hey, I'm an eighteen year old female. However, I have been having problems with sex. I've been sexually active since this January but have only had problems with intercourse. I don't enjoy it, not even a little bit. When I lost my virginity, it took us (my boyfriend and I) trying over three weeks before I was able to take him in. Now, I merely have a pain when he first enters but I feel no enjoyment out of it. When he goes hard, fast, and deep, I can't breath sometimes for a few seconds from what I can only describe as pressure. I don't know what it is--if I'm too small, or he is too big for me. I mean, he's 7 1/2-8 inches but that's not like humongous. There is a foot difference in height between us, if that causes anything I don't have a very high sex drive. When he makes me orgasm orally, I don't even desire sex for at least a week. Please, is there anything anyone can give me as advise or a cause for what is happening. Sex is the only--the ONLY problem we have in our relationship and it really shouldn't be--Two, healthy, eighteen year old adults. I am 22 weeks pregnant and I have on two occasions had sharp pain on my c-section scar. Both times I was walking not strenuous either 1st time shopping the second time just a normal walk in fact we just started walking maybe 10 to 15 feet into the walk. I touched my belly and it seemed to ease up. I plan on taking it easy until my dr appt. in a week and a half. Has anyone had this or is anyone going through this now? BTW this is my 3rd child my 2nd pregnancy was fine I didn't feel any of these problems. Also I did feel faint when I went shopping however the pain was after that. Atleast by an hour or two. Okay, so i came back home at around 2:00am. and i took my shoes off, and i think my feet were kinda swollen, and they feel REALLLLY weird, like they've been kinda clamped together or something. - i guess because it was like 8 degrees, so my feet kinda froze in my shoes. oh the shoes were super high and the heel was skinnier than a pencil - i must say, the pain they put me through was alright, because they looked AWESOME!!! lol :) They were hurting the whole night, because we ended up walking to the venue, instead of taking a tram! ummm, and then we danced a lot, and so, it was hurting from there as well. So anyway, when i came back home i soaked my feet in hot water, and every time i thought the water was getting cold, i would put more water into the spa.... (i was dangling my feet in the spa.) - its was really hot water. and then i thought i would be better by the morning, but their still hurting. any help would be appreciated. Yeah, weird.. okay so i think i have this fungal thing in my big toe. it was discolored but it didn't hurt really at all. well it did a few months ago, but it went away and now it's only discolored but in no pain. half of the toenail (its my big toe on my left foot. and it might do the same thing on the right toe as well, i think its a little discolored but not as bad) fell off already and idk if the rest of it will, but i'm really really really scared. i'm going to tell my mom soon (i'm a 13 yr old girl) but i'm afraid to go to the doctor about it bcuz i'm afraid of what he'll say and i'm also a little embarassed cuz my mom might say something like 'why didn't u wash your feet' eventhough i wash them everyday in the shower...Is there any like cream or something that can be bought at a cvs or walmart or something that can help this problem? and cuz the toenail fell off will the other half have to be removed? plz help me i'm so scared :[ moreOpen Question: Where to get custom made shoes?
Well this is how my feet look like. They dont fit into normal shoes. Like a choad. Or its too wide at the toes. Its like a V. And im a sprinter so i cannot fit into any god damn cleats or spikes...Have no idea how skinny those shoes are. Always been sprinting in wide airforces. The most closest shoe to triple wide and least amount of pain. ok so its a horror/Ghost story! the title is : the haunting of Emma williams. i am only 13 but i really want tough love [i lack of a Better word] this is the prologue, this "scene" actually takes place in the middle of the book. the actual 1st chapter will be the opening of the story. im starting it now. Back in New York the skies were breath taking to anyone, no matter how many times you had seen them. Now the skies were dull, with no star's left to admire. * I can't just sit here forever, and let that thing control my life. I won't let it control my life! I stood up and wiped the dirt of my old blue jeans. I turned around and headed up the the hill to the house. * The walk up the path and through the gate was a lot longer than normal,I often had to remind myself to breath. I let myself through the partly opened door, and let it close with a SMACK behind me. The floorboards squeaked below my feet. How is it humanly possible for a house to make this much noise? Oh right, these things weren't human, or at least not mortal. * By this time i was at the bottom at the long stairwell that had once sent me into a awe. Each step let out its own moan, each unique sound sent chills down my back. Finally I reached the top step. "emma" the thing said, as child like giggles followed. I just got home from the ER, and I am in severe pain. Today, I was at a clinic with my new horse. I have only had her about 2 weeks, and have ridden her 4 times. Well, before I tell you about today, I'll tell you about yesterday. Yesterday, I was on a trail ride and everything went wonderful until my horse caught site of some goats running toward her. She flipped out, took a sharp left turn (at which point I ate dirt) and took of into the sunset. Literally. It took an hour for us to track her down. I wasn't badly hurt, as I landed in some soft grass on my butt. My butt was pretty sore but no biggie. So today, I was ready to get back on so I took her with my 4-H club to a clinic at the local fairgrounds. I was in the large outdoor arena there and all was well for a while. (oh yeah, by the way, my horse is terrified of whips. We think she was abused.) My trainer was about 10-20 feet behind me riding her 3 year old QH and she snapped him with a crop, scared the SH!T out of my horse, and she bolted. This time I didn't fall off right away. I held on for about 50 feet of her wild galloping. Then she veered sharply to the right and I hit the ground HARD. As soon as I hit the ground I was screaming, I had never felt that much pain in my life. I was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital where they took x-rays and gave me some very nice pain medication that made all the bad things go away and I felt great(if I didn't move.). Then the meds wore off. That sucked. So in the end I broke nothing, thank the Lord, but I have to foot long brush burns, I can't walk right, and I can't move without screaming. I was very very close to breaking my pelvis. I don't think I will ever be able to get back up on my horse again, or at least thats what it feels like. I've only ridden her 4 times and 2 of those times I was thrown off! Come on. I don't have the experience to fix this. I need to either hire a trainer to desensitize her, or I need to sell her. The thought of selling her makes me want to throw up because I love her so much already. The problem with hiring a trainer is I don't know how we could afford it! Its so expensive! Every so often when i need to poop. I get this chill on my feet, then it some times moves up my legs. It only happens when i have troubles going. After I go my feet are still could even with socks, shoes, or slippers on. And my rectum is in great pain. I try taking a bath, and or shower that works for an while but once i get out the pain and coldness comes back. By the way. Don't no if it helps but i am a guy.there is also pain in between my toes.please help it's been about for hours and i am still in pain. Last night I was getting out of my car and I stepped on my left foot wrong. I heard and felt a crunching noise in the upper left side of my foot, almost right below the ankle area. I thought I could walk it off but today I'm still in loads of pain, is it possible that I broke or fractured a part of my foot? I've had what I believe is an overstretched ligament right below my ankle bone on the inside of my right foot... it has been there for months, sometimes it hurts less, sometimes more. I went to bed two nights ago, and woke up with my left foot being very tender. The pain has increased substantially in the last 24 hours, even though I have done my best to keep off the foot, ice it, and take some ibuprofen. I was looking on the web and came across plantar fasciitis, which sounds similar to my pain, but the pain is not localized around the heel. The pain actually occurs on the sides of the feet, from the toes down to the middle of the arch. Also there is pain on the sole where the toes and the sole come together. The sole itself is also tender from the same range. The heel and ball of the foot is the only part that is not sore. I went for a pelvic ultrasound a yesterday. I am 13 years old. They think I have some cyst or something on my ovary. They did 2 ultrasounds. One was like when pregnant women go to see their baby and then they did one that was inside of my vagina. They did not let my mom in the room when the lady did the thing. I got upset by that because I wanted my mom there for I guess support because I was very nervous...My mom told them that and they still did not let her in. When I got there I had to drink a lot of water and they did the one like the pregnant people do and then they told me to use the bathroom and then the lady did the vagina one. They told me to insert the thing. The lady doing it told me to insert it like a tampon. I do not use tampons so I had no idea what I was doing so I told the lady that I just started my period about 6 months ago and I do not use tampons. She got a little like frusturated at me and said kinda rude "well put your legs up here and I guess I have to do it". When she put it in and did the thing it really hurt and it still is sore today. I found out that I do have some cysts on my ovaries so could it be caused from that or from the lady putting it in there. Why wasn't the lady aloud to put the thing in me? She did everything else... Also this was just a very embarrassing doctor appoitment! When the vagina one was going on the table was facing the door my legs were in these foot rests so my legs were spread apart and so the thing was sticking out my vagina and did not hit my legs or anything. I was not covered at all and some guy technicion walked into the room by accident! I felt so embarrased! He saw my whole privates everything! I just wanted everything to be over! The 1st ultrasound took about 20 mins (that was the one like the pregnant people get) and the 2nd one that was in my vagina took like 45 mins! I was so nervous and anxious for it to be over! I guess my questions are, why aren't the people aloud to put the thing in your vagina and why did it hurt so bad that it hurts today? My mom is going to call the gynocolgist or something like that (that was the doctor I saw and he sent us to get the ultrasounds) on Monday because they are not open today but it really hurts and we both do not no what to do. Is there anything I can do to take the pain away. I have taken some advil and that is not working and my mom is not sure. My next door neighbor is a doctor and he is a gynocoligist so worst case my mom and I going to talk to him but he's a man and if he wants to look at it I don't want that! My dog has a tumor in his paw, he has been to the vet and is taking pain medication and a steroid to help shrink the tumor. The problem started with a cut on his paw (which is how we discovered the tumor) but he won't let the cut heal. He chewed a good deal of skin off of his paw and now it oozes and smells terrible. We took him back to the vet to get the paw bandaged when it happened, and she told us it looked great. I don't understand how that could be, since his foot smells so bad that you smell it as soon as you enter the house. Does anyone know what to do for a smelly wound like this?My dog has been wearing a cone to keep him from chewing on his foot. My ankle was stepped on / kicked inadvertently by an opponent while jockeying for a incoming disc in a game of ultimate frisbee. Ouch! I've sprained, rolled, and fractured my ankles before, but this one was injured differently and felt different. The outside of my ankle felt like it had been lobbed a bit. I could walk for the first 20 minutes, and then it swelled up and I had to limp. I iced the ankle and elevated it and took ibuprofen for the first 2 days, and the pain has largely gone away after 4 days. It is no longer swelled up either. The remaining symptoms are a faint red line below the bulb-like bone on the exterior, about 18 inches from the base of my foot, numbness and tingling in the affected area, and sensitivity to the touch. I am still favoring my other foot and walking with a slight limp. The injury occurred 4 days ago. Should I see a doctor? Can I afford to "wait it out?" Last night I hit my foot on my husband's weight bar HARD causing some serious pain. I woke up this morning and my toe is stiff and is hurting very badly. Yesterday in gym, one of my friends accidentally kicked the outside of my foot, hitting the bone. I walked it off, but I was limping and it hurt. Throughout the day, my little toe and side of my foot turned red, and I continued to limp. No unbareable pain, but I woke up this morning and it hurts worse. It feels like I need to crack my foot, but when I attempt to, that's when the pain is at its worst. So, what do you think it is? A twisted ankle? I've never had one before so I'm not sure! I have been going to doctors for years and cannot figure out what is wrong with me. I'm 26 years old. I feel much older. My bones hurt and break easily, my joints hurt, my muscles are sore and my whole body is weak all the time. I have all of the social problems of Asperger's, but I don't believe that's what I have. I think my social and emotional struggles come from trying to be a normal 26 year old woman with 2 children when it hurts to get out of bed every day. I am in serious pain. Nobody believes be so I need to find the answer on my own. Everyone thinks I just want pain medication. I don't even like to take pills. I just want an answer so I can stop hurting. My wife is 6 months pregnant. She has a wound in one of her toe fingernails that causes lots of pain on her legs and feet. The doctor mentioned that it needs anesthetics for him to clean and remove some part of infected wound. Is it really safe to use? Does it have any effect of our unborn baby? I am 24/M from Idaho. Im just looking for an honest answer. Ok.. on 2/4/09 I had acl reconstruction surgery. A couple of weeks ago I was cut off from pain meds. I since have been taking antiinflammatories and icing 5 days a week. I work construction and Im always on my feet. I have a lot of pain mon-fri due to my job and being on my feet 8 hours a day. On the weekends its not as bad b/c I stay off my leg. I feel as if the pain meds helped but my doctor doesn't believe I should still be on them so there for he no longer prescribes them to me, in fact he made me feel guilty like I was a junkie. He told me I would have pain for at least 6 months and up to 9 months . I took his advice on naproxyn sodium 220 mg twice a day and ice and a special acl knee brace. My question is, is it wrong I still want the pain meds b/c its the only thing that is truly helping? And If its not wrong, how do I go about talking about this with a doctor when this is kind of a hard subject. My doctor and the nurses in the orthopedics place where I got my surgery treated me like I was a junkie, it was so embarrasing and made me feel guilty and worthless. How does a person go about talking to your doctor and dealing with this?? Do I go to a different doctor? What is your take on this situation. Be honest,tell me how you would look at this situation and help me understand. If I could sign up for no pain or the knee I had prior to tearing and repairing it I would. My friend, whom I love with all my heart like she was my sister, was sexually abused when she was a child. She cannot forgive or let go of this, and the pain is eating away at every part of her life. Although she has a huge heart and would help anyone, she has a lot of unresolved anger that is eating away at her physically and emotionally. I am aware that often suffering is what leads us to the foot of the cross, but if I can lighten her load on the way, I would gladly share her burden. As a Christian, I know the healing power of the Holy Spirit and of forgiveness. While my friend respects my beliefs and loves me despite our differences, she is not a Christian and has feelings of hostility towards Christians (in general) because of her view that we are the reason that she cannot marry her girlfriend. My dilemma is that the only solution I see to alleviating her pain is through Christ because He is what I know, but she will not accept help in this way just yet. Please tell me, how can I ease my dear friend's burden?Please understand that the only reason I requested answers from Christians is because other Christians will understand why I am having trouble finding a way to comfort my friend without mentioning my source of comfort--Jesus. I am havings pains in my chest, back side of neck and in my left hand. As doctor prescribed, i am taking SAAZ DS 1gm(3 TIMES A DAY). and OCID QRS TABLETS BEFORE BREAKFAST. I have lost 11 kgs in weight after controlling my diet.(Reduced from 92 to 80 kg - My height is 5 feet and 7 inch) Now I am avoiding all acidic foods as Acid reflux is one of my problem. So I have been jump roping for about two months. it is in a workout consisting of: 600 jumps (50 medium 150 all out) 20 push ups 30 crunches 30 lower ab crunches i stopped the jump roping for about two weeks due to finals, grad practice and first week of summer fun but through out the time, my knees would hurt every once in a while. It happened a while back but then i started jumping again and the pain went away. do you think that jump roping is causing my knees to hurt? do you think that jump roping could be damaging my knees? ive read that it is actually easy on ones knees. so i was just wondering if jump roping could be damaging my knees somehow. i know i jump how im supposed to (landing on the balls of my feet thus letting calves and feel absorb most of the impact) but i jump rope on cement because i cant find anywhere else to do it. I have been awaken up out of sleep while sleeping on my back and I've sat in a chair and these unbelievable pains will come out of nowhere.It is so painful I have screamed my bloody head of.One time my husband witnessed my toes being pulled in different directions.I don't know what the heck is going on..I have eaten banana's thinking it's a potassium problem and it seems like they bring it on.I've asked my husband & son to bring me water.Is this maybe caused from dehydration or something.Can someone help explain? more
